Spare capacity

Set a profitable price for capacity available outside your primary workload. The available-capacity calculator applies that rule across a peak-sized day: hardware remains with your existing business, while Spot volume adds incremental power and egress.

Rule

If a primary workload already covers hardware amortization, the night ask's floor is power + overhead only. If the box exists only to sell on this market, keep the full amortization line.

Public off-peak asks clear 30–50% below 24/7 on-demand. That is a market observation, not a reason to go below your incremental cost.

Add overhead before margin. A spare-capacity ask at the 24/7 floor will not fill off-peak; an ask below incremental power is a transfer to the buyer.
